Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for Art and Technology initiatives, including AI architecture for historical document analysis and museum metadata engineering.
- Oversee multidisciplinary research projects involving data management and collaboration across schools, faculties, museums, and external institutions.
- Develop project plans, implementation schedules, and quality control procedures to ensure effective governance and timely delivery.
- Conduct research and evaluation of OCR, computer vision, and AI-assisted workflows for processing calligraphic and historical documents.
- Manage AI/IT budgets, outsourcing, vendor coordination, and technical environment setup.
- Facilitate collaboration between researchers, scholars, curators, educators, and technical specialists.
- Supervise student interns and mentor the Art & Technology task force.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Master's degree or above in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Library and Information Management, Data Science, Museum Studies, or related discipline.
- At least 8 years' post-qualification relevant work experience, preferably in arts, information management, AI, or creative industries.
- Solid foundation in digital humanities, cultural heritage, metadata, AI/OCR workflows, and project coordination.
- Experience in a supervisory role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese.
- Experience making grant applications.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of cursive calligraphy is a strong advantage.
Appointment
- Full-time — 1-year contract, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
