Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach the department's introductory survey course on Ancient World History.
- Develop and create new World History courses aligned with the candidate's interests and departmental needs.
- Maintain an active research agenda with publications in English-language peer-reviewed journals and monographs.
- Teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Specialization in Ancient World History (c. 1000 BCE–500 CE), including ancient Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, or the Mediterranean world.
- Ability to teach ancient Greek and/or Roman history is highly desirable.
- Strong commitment to high standards in research and teaching.
- Clear plans for future English-language publications including a monograph and peer-reviewed journal articles.
Appointment
- Full-time, tenure-track position; initial contract up to three years, renewable for a further three years, with potential for substantiation (tenure) after six years aggregate service or sooner with special application.
