Assistant Technical Director in Bioinformatics Core

Duties & Responsibilities

Build and lead multidisciplinary bioinformatics and IT teams with focus on mentoring and workforce planning.
Define technical roadmap for core services and drive AI adoption to automate workflows and ensure platform scalability.
Oversee development and optimization of high-performance multi-omics data pipelines for large-scale biomedical research.
Manage secure IT ecosystems including HPC, cloud, and data centers while directing cybersecurity and data governance policies.
Serve as lead technical expert for major projects, providing strategic counsel to researchers, clinicians, and leadership.
Ensure service continuity and support clinical readiness or regulatory compliance as required.

Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, or related field.
20+ years of relevant full-time work experience, preferably in research support in academic settings.
Demonstrated expertise in NGS/multi-omics pipeline development and workflow automation.
Proven track record building technical teams and managing large-scale biomedical research analysis platforms.
Experience with accreditation or clinical validation protocols is highly desirable.
Strong skills in budgeting, procurement, and stakeholder management.
Proactive leader committed to scaling analytical capacity and embracing emerging technologies.

Full-time, two-year fixed-term contract with possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance; includes contract-end gratuity and university retirement benefits contribution up to 10% of basic salary.
