Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage, protect, and maintain the university's IP portfolio including patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets.
- Assess commercial potential of university inventions and coordinate IP licensing and technology transfer strategies.
- Serve as primary contact between researchers, faculty, external partners, and legal advisors on IP matters.
- Assist in developing and implementing institutional IP policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Ensure proper management of IP documentation and compliance with relevant IP laws and regulations.
- Prepare, review, and negotiate IP-related agreements such as NDAs, MTAs, and licensing agreements.
- Organize IP awareness programs, training, and workshops for staff and students.
- Prepare regular reports on IP activities and outcomes to senior management and relevant bodies.
- Stay current with developments in IP law, technology transfer, and commercialisation opportunities.
- Work with entrepreneurship and licensing teams to translate research outputs into societal impact.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in Science, Engineering, Law, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- At least 4–7 years of relevant experience in intellectual property management or technology transfer.
- Solid knowledge of intellectual property laws and regulations.
- Experience in academic, research, or innovation environments is preferred.
- Higher degree or relevant professional qualifications is an advantage.
