Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on observational and numerical modeling of ionospheric irregularities.
  • Investigate Equatorial Spread F phenomena near the Greater Bay Area using regional and global models with observational data.
  • Collaborate with senior researchers to perform integrated analysis of numerical simulations and data-model comparisons.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Ph.D. degree in ionospheric physics, space physics, or a related field.
  • Strong background in plasma physics, ionospheric physics, thermosphere-ionosphere coupling, or computational space plasma dynamics.
  • Research experience in global ionosphere-thermosphere modeling and regional ionospheric irregularities modeling strongly preferred.
  • Experience with high-performance computing and AI-driven forecasting models for space weather applications advantageous.

Appointment

  • Full-time contract — 2 years with possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funding.
