Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design and develop advanced electric power system architectures for autonomous platforms and laboratory systems.
  • Lead research in smart electric power hybridisation including batteries, supercapacitors, and renewable integration.
  • Develop control and energy management strategies for self-driven power systems.
  • Support implementation of autonomous chemical and materials synthesis operations using robotic systems.
  • Build and validate simulation and experimental prototypes for drones, robotic systems, and autonomous laboratory infrastructure.
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams in electrical engineering, robotics, control, AI, chemistry, and materials science.
  • Publish high-impact research outcomes and contribute to project reports and grant activities.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or closely related discipline required.
  • Doctoral degree in Power System Design and Development or relevant field required.
  • Strong track record of research and expertise in electric power system engineering and smart power hybridisation.
  • Experience with embedded power electronics and real-time control systems.
  • Hands-on experience with UAV/drone, robotic, or autonomous platform power systems.
  • Proficiency in modelling/simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PSCAD, or PLECS.
  • Experience in prototype development, testing, and system validation.
  • Strong publication record and excellent scientific communication skills.
  • Preference given to candidates with multidisciplinary research experience in autonomous or robotic systems.
