Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and develop advanced electric power system architectures for autonomous platforms and laboratory systems.
- Lead research in smart electric power hybridisation including batteries, supercapacitors, and renewable integration.
- Develop control and energy management strategies for self-driven power systems.
- Support implementation of autonomous chemical and materials synthesis operations using robotic systems.
- Build and validate simulation and experimental prototypes for drones, robotic systems, and autonomous laboratory infrastructure.
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams in electrical engineering, robotics, control, AI, chemistry, and materials science.
- Publish high-impact research outcomes and contribute to project reports and grant activities.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or closely related discipline required.
- Doctoral degree in Power System Design and Development or relevant field required.
- Strong track record of research and expertise in electric power system engineering and smart power hybridisation.
- Experience with embedded power electronics and real-time control systems.
- Hands-on experience with UAV/drone, robotic, or autonomous platform power systems.
- Proficiency in modelling/simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PSCAD, or PLECS.
- Experience in prototype development, testing, and system validation.
- Strong publication record and excellent scientific communication skills.
- Preference given to candidates with multidisciplinary research experience in autonomous or robotic systems.
