Duties & Responsibilities

Design and implement autonomous underwater robotic platforms for marine habitat mapping and ecological assessment.
Develop AI-driven perception, navigation, and data analysis systems for marine environments.
Conduct field-based studies in the Greater Bay Area to support marine biodiversity and ecosystem research.
Collaborate with marine scientists, engineers, and data scientists across disciplines.
Disseminate findings through publications in leading journals and international conference presentations.
Support training and supervision of graduate students involved in the project.
Participate in research project applications and divide time equally between two campuses.

PhD in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
Demonstrated expertise in robotic system design, autonomous control, sensor fusion, and/or machine learning.
Proficiency in programming (Python, C++, ROS) and experience with simulation tools.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Prior experience in underwater robotics and field robotics is preferred.
Knowledge of Chinese is advantageous.
