Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to research in demography and population studies.
- Teach and mentor students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Potentially take on leadership roles in the HKU Research Hub of Population Studies.
- Contribute to the Department's research and teaching in population-related areas.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Ph.D. degree in Demography or Sociology.
- Strong scholarly track record with high-quality publications in leading journals.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching, research, and academic leadership.
- Expertise in areas such as low fertility, family dynamics, migration, health/mortality, or computational approaches to population research.
- Preference for applicants with diverse theoretical approaches and Asian focus.
Appointment
- Full-time; tenure-track position with potential for direct tenure consideration for exceptionally outstanding candidates.
