Duties & Responsibilities
- Support marine restoration research projects through field surveys and experiments in coastal and marine ecosystems.
- Conduct sample processing, basic laboratory analyses, data entry, and data management.
- Assist with planning and execution of fieldwork including sampling and data collection.
- Support preparation of research reports, presentations, and other research outputs.
- Provide general support for literature reviews and grant writing.
- Work at SWIMS facilities, main campus, and field sites around Hong Kong.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marine biology, ecology, environmental science/engineering, or related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in marine ecology and coastal fieldwork including field surveys and sampling.
- Master's degree and/or substantial prior research experience preferred (qualifies for Research Assistant I level).
- SCUBA diving certification preferred, though strong field experience without certification will be considered.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with high motivation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team.
Appointment
- Full-time contract for one year, with possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
