Senior IT Officer (System Administrator)

Duties & Responsibilities

Manage, design, implement, and maintain the university's IT infrastructure including virtual machines, servers, and storage systems.
Oversee administrative tasks for Active Directory, DNS, Linux, email systems, and database servers.
Address security vulnerabilities through system hardening and patch management.
Manage incident response processes and develop disaster recovery plans.
Conduct product evaluations and prepare specifications for new deployments.
Plan, implement, and maintain server rooms and data centers.
Perform daily operational health checks and monitor IT systems proactively.
Create and maintain technical documentation and user manuals for IT personnel.

Hold a Higher Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Have at least 3 years of experience in Windows infrastructure, VMware, Active Directory, and Linux.
Be proficient in Linux, web-based open-source environments, Windows PowerShell, and Linux Shell scripting.
Possess RHCE, LPI, or MCSE certification (preferred).
Demonstrate strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Be fluent in both spoken and written English and Chinese.
Work effectively as a team player and independently during incidents.
Be familiar with system security and data protection best practices.

Full-time contract position, renewable upon mutual agreement. (Candidates with more experience may be considered for Assistant IT Manager role.)
