Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain AI-assisted workflows for extracting, organizing, translating, and aligning architectural and heritage terminology across English and Chinese sources.
- Use AI tools such as Claude Code or OpenAI Codex to support research, data processing, prototyping, testing, and documentation.
- Build NLP and retrieval workflows using embeddings, semantic search, and retrieval-augmented generation techniques.
- Curate multilingual datasets including Chinese character conversion, terminology normalization, metadata, and copyright records.
- Test AI-generated outputs, identify errors, and prepare materials for expert validation.
- Support development of a web-based visual glossary prototype linking terminology, definitions, images, and related materials.
- Work with interdisciplinary teams and document methods and project progress clearly.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in any discipline.
- Practical experience with Python, data processing, NLP, web development, or related technical area, or demonstrated ability to learn these skills quickly.
- Experience using current AI tools for research, coding, data analysis, or problem-solving.
- Strong reading ability in Simplified and Traditional Chinese for academic and heritage-related materials.
- Good written English and ability to prepare clear research and technical documentation.
- Careful attention to data quality, source verification, copyright, and AI limitations.
- Ability to work independently, meet project milestones, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
Appointment
- Full-time or Part-time; Contract duration: 6 to 12 months with possibility of renewal based on performance and funding availability
