Senior Technical Manager/ Technical Manager in the Hong Kong Jockey Club Global Health Institute (HKJCGHI), School of Public Health

Duties & Responsibilities

Oversee operations on infectious diseases and vaccines at the institute.
Develop and manage the process development laboratory, including GLP-compliant areas.
Manage research projects at the institute.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including researchers and public health agencies.

Master's degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field (PhD desirable but not mandatory).
At least 12 years of relevant experience in process development laboratories or manufacturing operations, particularly for vaccines.
Extensive knowledge of vaccine development and biomanufacturing, especially cell-culture platforms for viral and bacterial vaccines.
Proven experience with viral cultivation, purification, and scale-up in GLP or GMP-compliant facilities.
Expertise in developing and validating assays for product characterization.
Excellent written and spoken English with strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Preference given to candidates with vaccine/biopharmaceutical industry experience or experience in low- and middle-income country settings.

Full-time; one-year temporary or two-year fixed-term basis, with possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.
