Senior Technical Officer/Technical Officer in the Department of Geography (Ref. 536166)

Duties & Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day operation and maintenance of wet labs in the department.
Adjust, calibrate, and ensure proper function of laboratory equipment and instruments.
Provide technical support to faculty, researchers, and students in using laboratory equipment for teaching, learning, and research.
Assist with field trips and lab work as requested by faculty members.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of lab equipment and research findings.
Continuously update knowledge of relevant technologies and industry best practices.

Bachelor's degree preferably in Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field; Master's degree is highly desirable.
At least 2 years of experience in a similar role; candidates with less experience may be considered for the Technical Officer position.
Demonstrated expertise in the operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment and instruments.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both Chinese and English.
Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
Valid driving licenses for private cars (Class 1) and light goods vehicles (Class 2) are advantageous.

Full-time, fixed-term contract for 2 years with possibility of renewal based on satisfactory performance.
