Duties & Responsibilities

Lead the Technical Team in delivering technical support for administrative, teaching, learning, and research activities.
Manage and optimize laboratory facilities, equipment, and infrastructure.
Plan and monitor the technical budget and resource allocation.
Oversee procurement and inventory of equipment, instruments, and consumables.
Develop, implement, and review standard operating procedures.
Ensure a safe working environment and monitor compliance with laboratory safety regulations.
Provide training and technical support to staff, students, and other users.
Manage documentation and prepare technical, safety, and operational reports.
Support departmental events, seminars, and outreach activities.
Plan and execute works projects including formulating procurement strategies and managing tendering processes.
Coordinate with internal units and liaise with external contractors.

Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline required; Master's degree is highly desirable.
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience required.
At least 3 years of experience in staff supervision and laboratory management preferred.
Strong proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Mandarin).
Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and laboratory management skills.
Self-motivated, responsible, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Knowledge of laboratory safety regulations and procedures is advantageous.
Experience working in a tertiary education institution is advantageous.

Full-time, two-year fixed-term contract with possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance; includes contract-end gratuity and University contribution to retirement benefits scheme (up to 10% of basic salary).
