Technician (Music Technology)

Duties & Responsibilities

Provide technical assistance for music technology equipment and software.
Set up and maintain audio and recording systems for classes and events.
Manage inventory of music technology equipment with documentation of usage, maintenance, and repairs.
Collaborate on the design and construction of recording studios, control rooms, and sound booths.
Assist in the installation of mixing systems, patch bays, and audio connections.
Supervise projects and ensure quality control throughout construction and setup processes.
Assist in demonstrations, practical classes, and laboratory projects.
Support students in the use of music software and hardware.
Support the organisation and execution of departmental events, including concerts and workshops.
Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in music production and management.

A recognised Diploma or Higher Certificate in a relevant discipline.
At least 2 years' relevant work experience in music technology, sound engineering, or related role.
Proficiency in digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Max/MSP, or Ableton Live.
Familiarity with various audio and recording equipment.
Experience using both Windows PC and Mac.
Good interpersonal and communication skills with fluency in English and Chinese.
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and support diverse learning needs.
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly and efficiently.

Full-time; may be required to work irregular hours, shifts, and weekends; based at Chai Wan Campus.
