Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct research and teaching in ophthalmology with focus on high-impact output and external competitive grants.
- Develop and provide regular clinical services and patient care at the HKU Eye Centre and affiliated teaching hospitals.
- Teach medical students, interns, and trainees at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Contribute to administrative duties in the Department, Hospitals, and Faculty.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Medical qualification registrable with the Medical Council of Hong Kong and specialist qualification in ophthalmology recognized by the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine.
- Proven research capacity with track record of active research, high-impact publications, and external competitive grants.
- Strong commitment to clinical excellence, teaching, and demonstrated clinical acumen in ophthalmology.
- Fluency in Cantonese, Putonghua, and English is preferred; higher qualifications (MD, MS, PhD) are advantageous.
Appointment
- Full-time; four-year fixed-term contract with possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before expiry of second four-year contract.
