Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach and conduct research in journalism, creative industries, or media-related fields within the School of Future Media.
- Contribute to the development of programs and curriculum in emerging areas such as AI applications in media and creative industries.
- Engage in research on AI and emerging technologies (XR/AR/VR) in media, communications, and creative sectors.
- Collaborate with industry partners and foster synergy between academia and industry.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Ph.D. degree in Journalism, Media/Game Studies, Computational Social Science, Computer Sciences, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related fields.
- Track record of high-quality publications and/or innovative media applications development.
- Demonstrated success in obtaining competitive research funding or investments in digital media projects.
- Proven leadership in administration, program development, and curriculum design with experience in China and Asia.
Appointment
- Full-time; Assistant Professors appointed on three-year fixed-term basis with possibility of renewal and tenure consideration; Professor/Associate Professor candidates may be considered for direct tenure subject to university approval.
Key Dates
- Commencement date: January 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.
- School establishment: October 1, 2025.
