Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Finance & Estates Office ensuring efficient delivery of budgeting, financial planning, accounting, income collection, payments, and procurement.
  • Provide strategic financial direction aligned with university priorities and long-term objectives.
  • Ensure financial reporting integrity and compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements.
  • Oversee property management, estates functions, and external contractors to maintain standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures across finance, procurement, and estates management.
  • Prepare proposals, budgets, and documentation for campus development and capital projects.
  • Lead capital project governance including budget oversight, financial modelling, and risk assessment.
  • Mentor and develop the Finance & Estates Office team.
  • Undertake special projects as assigned by senior leadership.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Master's degree or above in accounting, finance, business administration, or related discipline.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g. HKCPA).
  • Significant senior-level experience in finance, estates, or resource management, preferably in higher education or public sector.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management, budgeting, accounting standards, and procurement practices.
  • Demonstrated experience managing capital or campus development projects and preparing business cases.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills with experience building multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • High integrity.
