Part-time Research Assistant II (Information Systems & Software Development)

Duties & Responsibilities

Assist in software and web application development, system testing, and prototype maintenance using Java, Node.js, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and PostgreSQL.
Prepare and administer surveys, configure research equipment/hardware, and conduct user onboarding sessions.
Assist in data collection, basic data processing, and maintain project documentation.
Coordinate with team members using collaborative tools and organize research materials.
Support day-to-day administrative and operational tasks for the research project.

Sub-degree or equivalent qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Web Development, or related discipline.
Basic foundation in programming and web technologies such as Java, C++, JavaScript, Node.js, Express.js, HTML5, CSS, or PostgreSQL.
Hands-on experience in software development projects, code review, and technical documentation preparation.
Good problem-solving and communication skills with proficiency in English and Chinese including Cantonese.
Experience with team collaboration platforms such as Slack, Zulip, or Trello.
Self-motivated, willing to learn new technologies, and able to work independently and collaboratively.
