Duties & Responsibilities

Set up and fit out the new laboratory, including equipment specification, procurement, and inventory management.
Manage day-to-day laboratory operations including consumables ordering, equipment maintenance, and liaison with core facilities.
Manage laboratory and grant budgets, track expenditure, and coordinate with Finance and Research offices.
Oversee biosafety, chemical, radiation safety, and animal-work protocols with regulatory compliance and record-keeping.
Onboard new laboratory members and foster a positive, well-organised laboratory culture.
Contribute to experimental methods and technical training of laboratory members as appropriate.
Act as the laboratory's interface with university administration, vendors and institutional bodies.

PhD in cell biology, molecular biology, neuroscience or related life-science discipline, or Master's degree with substantial equivalent experience.
Substantial experience (typically 5+ years) managing a research laboratory or comparable technical operation.
Proven record of independently managing procurement, budgets and regulatory/safety compliance.
Excellent organisational, problem-solving and communication skills with high integrity standards.
Ability to set up a laboratory from scratch and manage change adaptively.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
