Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design, assemble, and calibrate IoT sensor nodes and wireless data-acquisition hardware for structural monitoring.
  • Deploy and maintain monitoring instrumentation on laboratory prototypes and on-site tower cranes.
  • Develop embedded firmware and data pipelines for real-time acquisition, transmission, and visualization of structural response data.
  • Assist Principal Investigator and Co-Investigators in conducting research on AIoT-based crane health monitoring systems.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Hold an honours degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or closely related discipline (Master's/MPhil preferred).
  • Have practical experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers (Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, STM32), and IoT communication protocols.
  • Demonstrate competence in signal processing and data analysis using Python and/or MATLAB.
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, and proficiency in laboratory and field work.
  • Have excellent command of written and spoken English and Cantonese with strong technical writing skills.
