Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct cutting-edge research in observational or theoretical astrophysics.
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in physics and astronomy.
- Secure research grants and manage funded research projects.
- Supervise PhD students and mentor graduate researchers.
- Serve on departmental and faculty committees.
- Contribute to the development and mission of the Hong Kong Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Hold a Ph.D. in Astrophysics, Astronomy, Physics, or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrate strong commitment to research and teaching excellence.
- Show proven ability in undergraduate teaching and graduate research mentoring.
- Conduct research that complements current research directions in astrophysics.
Appointment
- Tenure-Track, three-year fixed-term contract with possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before expiry of second three-year contract; exceptional candidates may be considered for tenure-track appointment.
