Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct world-class research on global Iberian empires with comparative and transnational scope.
- Teach broad surveys in Latin American history and other undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
- Supervise graduate theses and engage in innovative, research-led teaching.
- Secure competitive research funding and maintain strong research output.
- Contribute to departmental leadership and academic administration.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Hold a Ph.D. in History.
- Demonstrate specialized expertise in early modern Iberian empires (1450-1800).
- Show research interests in social and cultural history, slavery, gender studies, or indigenous studies.
- Preferably have research engagement with maritime East Asia connections.
Appointment
- Tenure-track Assistant Professor (three-year fixed-term contract with possibility of renewal and tenure consideration) or tenured Professor/Associate Professor position; commencement August 1, 2027, or as soon as possible thereafter.
