Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct world-class research on early modern Iberian empires with global and comparative scope.
- Teach broad surveys in Latin American history and other undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate theses.
- Secure competitive research funding.
- Contribute to departmental leadership and academic administration.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Hold a Ph.D. in History.
- Demonstrate strong research profile specializing in early modern Iberian empires (1450-1800).
- Show expertise in comparative and global history connecting Spain/Portugal with Americas, Asia, and Africa.
- Preferred: research in social and cultural history, slavery studies, women's and gender studies, indigenous studies, or maritime East Asia.
Appointment
- Full-time tenure or tenure-track position; Assistant Professor appointments made on three-year fixed-term basis with renewal possibility and tenure consideration.
