Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement operational and corporate strategy for InnoHK centres in alignment with research and innovation objectives.
- Lead day-to-day operations including finance, human resources, legal, company secretarial services, facilities management, procurement and administration.
- Provide strategic oversight on legal, regulatory and compliance matters affecting innovation centres and subsidiaries.
- Advise R&D centres on commercialisation strategies, partnerships and ventures to translate research into real-world impact.
- Represent the institution in engagements with the Innovation and Technology Commission and key stakeholders.
- Lead strategic initiatives including cross-centre collaboration and manage establishment or closure of centres as needed.
- Strengthen corporate governance, compliance and reporting frameworks across all subsidiary companies.
- Drive operational excellence by optimising workflows, systems and processes while promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, management or related discipline; postgraduate or professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA or MBA highly desirable.
- Training or experience in technology transfer, intellectual property management, business development or commercialisation strongly preferred.
- Track record in driving research impact, knowledge exchange or translating research into practical applications.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in senior operational, corporate management or general management roles, preferably in a university or research institution.
- Ability to lead corporate functions including finance, human resources, legal, company secretarial services and procurement in a matrix environment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills with ability to translate strategy into operational plans.
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills to work with academics, researchers, industry partners and government bodies.
- High integrity, sound judgement and discretion in handling sensitive matters.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua.
Appointment
- Full-time, two-year fixed-term contract with possibility of renewal subject to funding and performance.
