Duties & Responsibilities

Perform system administration tasks for various Linux distributions.
Oversee daily operations of High-Performance Computing (HPC) computing facilities.
Manage user accounts and access to HPC resources running on Linux systems.
Conduct regular health checks on all systems to identify, resolve, or escalate issues.
Provide support to faculty members, students and other HPC system users.
Assist users with job submission, scheduling and optimisation.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
Proven experience managing large-scale Linux operating environments.
Proficiency with Linux/Unix operating systems, file systems and shell commands.
Ability to install various Linux distributions (RHEL, Rocky, Ubuntu, Debian) from scratch.
Familiarity with research software installation tools such as conda and docker/singularity.
Preferably knowledge of HPC job schedulers such as Slurm.
Good communication and interpersonal skills for user support.
