Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the University's external research-funding portfolio and establish annual priorities and performance measures.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of external grants from opportunity scanning through project closure, including compliance checks and award acceptance.
- Lead and develop staff managing RGC schemes, Mainland grants, fellowship schemes and other sponsor portfolios.
- Interpret sponsor requirements, resolve complex cases and maintain relationships with funding bodies, faculties and partner institutions.
- Use portfolio data and funding intelligence to strengthen application quality and institutional competitiveness.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above, preferably with a postgraduate qualification.
- At least 8 years of relevant professional experience in research administration or grant management in higher education, with substantial supervisory or managerial experience.
- Thorough knowledge of Hong Kong's research-funding landscape, including RGC and ITC schemes.
- Proven leadership, project-management, analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent stakeholder-management and communication skills with confidence to liaise with senior academics.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua.
- Strong digital literacy and ability to use research-information systems, data analytics and AI tools effectively.
Appointment
- Full-time fixed-term contract for 3 years; re-appointment subject to mutual agreement.
