Duties & Responsibilities
- Acquire, prepare, and annotate clinical text and datasets for natural language processing research.
- Develop and evaluate NLP methods in collaboration with clinicians to assess model accuracy and clinical relevance.
- Support population-based epidemiological research on cancer using AI-generated structured data.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary collaborations across departments and with healthcare providers for clinical implementation.
- Recruit research participants, coordinate projects, and prepare manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Ph.D. in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, computer science, or related field with proven research track record.
- Proficiency in programming and data analysis using Python or R.
- Prior experience applying natural language processing or large language models to clinical information extraction.
- Strong communication skills and fluent spoken and written English.
- Organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently and in teams.
